Tennis .. ! Back to the first "S"

Well.. when a doctor in Chemo ward asked what are this things I really enjoy in my life I said "SSS". One of the S was Sports !!

Today, after what is seemed like a long long break, I was back on the tennis court in the morning.
The coach just fed a couple of baskets. Max 15-20 mins of running, trying to connect the ball.

Yes.. lil rusty already. But its not out of me.

2 weeks, of intermediate practice, I should be ready for my usual opponents (who were all cheering me today at the club in the morning - just my presence there).

S ... !!!

3 weeks since all the mdications stopped

And a lot has recovered. A lot more closer to normal life !

- Full time office. I go to work morning half and work from home rest of the day

- Yoga, A teacher comes home to keep me motivated and on track with re-building my strength.

- First week after radiation, was miserable with entire mouth and tongue filled with blisters. Now all of them have healed very nicely. And I am back to normal food. Great progress in mouth opening too.

- Bodily energy is back to a large extend. The weight is off the sliding scale, and making an u turn. Hoping it to be not too much.

- Able to go for a couple hrs, to public places like malls.

However, the real improvement I want to write about is the "Taste". Radiation had completely taken my "taste buds" away. Everything tasted like card board / plaster of paris. In a time, where nutrition is essential for cell repair, the motivation to gulp in any food was very very low.

After the first week after the finish of radiation, I noticed taste of Milk in its original form coming back. A few days later, basic cereal groups powered and eaten with milk, then basic fruit groups (like banana, mango) in its fresh form, raw vegetables that have a flavor while biting it (onion, carrot etc),
white meat without much added flavor (Pompret fish grilled, or Chicken grilled, or boiled egg white).

The taste is not back 100%. But it is growing each day. 10% after 2nd week, 20% now. And most surprisingly it is happening in that order.

And what does that order signify ? Its how a new born, human baby is fed. Basically they are on Milk after birth, then basics cereals with milk moving on to vegetable and fruits which are not mixed with a lot of other things and spices. My dead taste buds, seems to be coming back to life as that of a baby would.

I am amazed by that co-relation !!
